Intrepid Investment Bankers, a leading middle-market investment bank and the advisory arm of global financial group MUFG, has appointed Ken Garnett to Head of its Special Situations practice, effective immediately.
Garnett joined Intrepid in 2023 as a founding member of the firm’s Special Situations practice and brings over 30 years of experience across investment banking, private equity, restructuring, and turnaround consulting to the role. Previously, Garnett was a Managing Director in Special Situations Investment Banking at Cowen, Partner and Founder at Renewal Capital, a private equity fund focused on lower middle market special situations investments, and a Partner at Gordian Group.

Our team is deeply committed to delivering thoughtful, high-impact outcomes for our clients,” said Ken.
“Ken has been a key driving force behind the success of our Special Situations practice. He embodies the firm’s values through his commitment to deliver impactful advice, build and maintain deep client relationships, and bring a hands-on approach to complex situations. We are excited to see him take on this role as we continue to grow our platform and deliver differentiated outcomes for our clients,” said Ed Bagdasarian, Chief Executive Officer of Intrepid.
