Intrepid Investment Bankers, a leading middle-market investment bank and the advisory arm of global financial group MUFG, announced today the significant expansion of its Media & Entertainment practice with the hiring of Steve Kirkpatrick and Henry Davis. Kirkpatrick joins Intrepid as a Director (based in San Francisco) and will provide senior coverage across the digital audio & music, sports & sports tech, and out-of-home entertainment verticals. Davis joins Intrepid as a Vice President and will be based in Los Angeles. Their additions expand Intrepid’s capabilities as the firm continues to build its advisory coverage across high-growth and evolving segments of the media, sports, and entertainment ecosystem. Both Kirkpatrick and Davis will report to Daniel Gossels, Managing Director and Head of Media & Entertainment at Intrepid.
“I am thrilled to welcome both Steve and Henry to our team,” said Gossels. “Since joining Intrepid, our focus has been to build a differentiated practice with deep expertise across verticals where we see the strongest interest from strategic and financial buyers and investors. Steve is an important addition to that effort, bringing senior coverage capability across several priority areas, including audio, sports, and OOH entertainment. Henry adds valuable execution depth and relevant experience across the broader media and entertainment ecosystem, including sports, music, talent agencies, and the creator economy. Together, they strengthen our ability to deliver highly specialized advice to clients across this dynamic market.”
Kirkpatrick brings more than 12 years of investment banking experience advising clients on strategic M&A transactions and financings across the capital structure. He began his investment banking career at Cowen in 2014, where he helped build out the M&A practice as part of the firm’s TMT team. Most recently, he led Digital Media and Entertainment investment banking coverage at TD Securities following its acquisition of Cowen.
“I’m excited to join Intrepid’s Media & Entertainment practice at a time when the industry is going through a period of such tremendous innovation, transformation, and growth,” said Kirkpatrick. “Intrepid has built a highly compelling platform in the middle market, and I look forward to working with Daniel and the broader team to continue expanding the firm’s presence across audio, sports, and out-of-home entertainment verticals.”
Davis joins Intrepid with 12 years of experience in both investment banking and corporate development, with a track record of executing transactions across the media, sports, and entertainment ecosystem. Prior to joining the firm, he was a member of the Corporate Development and Mergers & Acquisitions team at United Talent Agency, where he supported initiatives across film & television, publishing, sports, music, brand advisory, and the creator economy. Earlier in his career, Henry worked in investment banking at Lincoln International and began his career at Morgan Stanley.
“I’m delighted to join Intrepid and contribute to the continued growth of the Media & Entertainment practice,” said Davis. “My experience across media, sports, music, and the creator economy has shown me how important and interconnected these markets have become. I’m excited to work alongside such a strong team and support clients in this exciting and rapidly evolving landscape.”
“Media & Entertainment is an important area of continued investment for Intrepid, and the additions of Steve and Henry reflect the momentum we are building under Daniel’s leadership,” said Ed Bagdasarian, Chief Executive Officer of Intrepid. “Steve adds meaningful senior coverage capabilities across several attractive verticals, and Henry brings valuable execution depth and firsthand perspective from across the broader media ecosystem. We remain committed to growing the practice with the talent, relationships, and advisory capabilities needed to serve clients across this important and dynamic sector.”
