Intrepid today announced that it served as exclusive financial advisor to CourtCall, LLC on its recapitalization and growth financing with Union Bank. Founded in 1995 by Bob Alvarado and Mark Wapnick, CourtCall is the dominant nationwide provider of remote court appearance services. The company’s platform, serving over 2,000 courtrooms in more than 45 states and Canada, allows attorneys and others to make court appearances remotely via audio or video conference, creating significant time and cost savings for the entire legal community.
“Intrepid ran an extremely disciplined and efficient process, securing the best possible terms to allow us to pursue our strategic goals,” said Bob Alvarado, Co-Founder and CEO of CourtCall. “Intrepid’s unique financing relationships and understanding of the capital markets were instrumental in closing this transaction with Union Bank, an institution invested in our vision for the future of remote court appearances.”
“CourtCall has impressively positioned itself as the dominant leader in the remote court appearance industry. By offering a true value proposition to all users, the company has developed a loyal following reliant on its platform,” said Jonathan Zucker, Head of the Capital Markets Group at Intrepid. “With this new financing from Union Bank, we are confident that CourtCall will continue on its path of innovation and growth.”
Founders Mark Wapnick and Bob Alvarado, both attorneys, developed the revolutionary platform in 1995 after Mr. Wapnick detailed his idea on completion of a particularly long and frustrating drive to court. By enabling remote participation in virtually any legal proceeding, CourtCall has helped save time, money and hassle for litigants, clients, judges and court staff. The company is widely recognized as a vital element of the legal ecosystem, having facilitated over five million remote appearances since inception.
