Intrepid Investment Bankers announced the expansion of the firm’s Industrials & Business Services offerings with the establishment of a dedicated Supply Chain & Logistics advisory practice. Dave Hatch has joined Intrepid as Managing Director to lead the group, and he will be joined by Managing Director Mike Letsch.
Intrepid’s Supply Chain & Logistics Group will offer M&A advisory and other capital markets support to middle-market companies offering transportation & logistics services and a diverse range of mission-critical supply chain solutions. Dave and Mike bring a combined 40+ years of banking experience, with 20+ years dedicated to covering the supply chain sector.
Dave previously helped lead the Transportation & Logistics practice at William Blair & Co., and he led the Transportation & Logistics Group at Piper Sandler prior to that. He is highly respected by key industry participants including strategic consolidators, executives, and private equity firms focused on the T&L sector. He will be based in Intrepid’s Charlotte office.
“Intrepid has all of the tools necessary to build a leading middle marketing practice dedicated to the supply chain sector,” said Hatch. “The firm’s experience and trusted reputation with founder-owned businesses is particularly compelling given the supply chain market’s significant fragmentation and industry dynamics driving further consolidation.” He continued, “Mike and I join a group of bankers with expertise in M&A, capital advisory, special situations and restructuring, buy-side search and deep relationships with private equity investors. We see compelling opportunities to collaborate with talented colleagues in Intrepid’s Industrials & Business Services and Software & Services practices, with in-depth expertise across sectors relevant to the supply chain. Uniquely, Intrepid also has access to the balance sheet and other capabilities of its parent company, MUFG, including a broad range of debt financing solutions and a vast network of global lending relationships through its Industrials and private equity coverage groups.”
Most recently, Mike Letsch led Transportation & Logistics at Bridgepoint Investment Banking, after nearly 20 years at Bank of America. He is a well-respected market observer and brings deep connectivity with public and private family-owned companies in all surface transportation modalities and the broader supply-chain sector. He will be based in Intrepid’s Chicago office.
“Mike is a tremendous addition, and I look forward to working with him to build Intrepid’s Supply Chain & Logistics Group,” said Hatch. “His industry knowledge, transaction experience and vast relationship network will be invaluable resources to help achieve our objective of establishing a market leading practice.”
“Supply chain is one of the world’s largest and most dynamic sectors, and it happens to fall squarely into the Intrepid and MUFG wheelhouse,” said Intrepid CEO, Ed Bagdasarian. “We are excited to play a growing role in the ongoing industry consolidation and grow our relevance to sponsors and strategics active in the sector. With their dedicated focus on the sector, deep relationships at every level, and broad backgrounds providing both M&A advisory and capital raising services, Dave and Mike are the ideal additions to lead us there.”
