Lauren’s favorite part of the internship experience was her frequent exposure to senior management. “I interacted with senior bankers daily, whether through quick hellos, lunch meetings, or by sitting in on live pitches,” she recalls.
Another particularly memorable experience was attending a pitch in the Lifestyle Brands space with a Managing Director. “Witnessing his client interaction and conversational skills was enlightening,” Lauren explains. This direct exposure to senior leadership provided her with valuable insights into both the industry and Intrepid’s best practices. Her advice for future interns? “Engage actively with senior leaders about their deals and experiences. It’s an invaluable way to gain knowledge beyond the classroom.”

Jacob Grover joined us with a keen enthusiasm for investment banking. He describes his internship as invaluable experience in learning how to thrive within a professional team. “The practical experience I gained went beyond what textbooks could teach,” Jacob reflects. From the start of his internship, he was challenged with drafting high-quality investment memoranda and building robust financial models. With the support of his mentors and deal teams, Jacob quickly honed these skills and learned industry best practices.
A former student-athlete, Jacob cites Intrepid’s culture of camaraderie and teamwork as major factors in his decision to return to the firm. “The culture of collaboration and support at Intrepid was a perfect fit for me,” he says. His internship offered him deep insights into investment banking processes, including company valuation and deal structuring. One highlight was drafting an industry report on the security technology sector, which played a material role in the firm’s business development efforts. Jacob would advise future interns to be proactive and engage with senior leaders to fully leverage their internship experience, a mindset that has already contributed to his success in his full-time role.

Sabrina Jahan’s internship was characterized by significant responsibility and trust. “The level of hands-on work and direct investment banking experience I received seemed well in excess of what my peers at other banks experienced,” Sabrina reflects. Despite the steep initial learning curve, she quickly adapted by asking questions and shadowing senior bankers, which facilitated her rapid development in the program.
