Blue Microphones
CEO :: John Maier
Blue Microphones gear is used by platinum-selling artists and music producers who work with international musical icons. Founded in 1995, Blue began by manufacturing high-performance microphones used by professional artists like Bruce Springsteen, Sting and Coldplay. In 2005, Blue debuted the first USB microphone, which is now used by consumers for chatting, podcasting and home recordings.
A portfolio company of Transom Capital Group, Blue engaged Intrepid to explore a sale process to return capital to its investors and provide management with a partner for continued growth. Intrepid positioned Blue at the forefront of an unprecedented convergence of professional and consumer content creation, and effectively communicated the opportunity to potential suitors in a compelling manner to heighten interest and valuations.
After a comprehensive marketing process, Blue selected The Riverside Company, a global private equity firm that has invested in more than 300 companies and has an international portfolio that includes more than 75 companies, as the buyer for the company.
Intrepid achieved a premium valuation in a rapid time frame, closing within less than 45 days from signing the letter of intent.
