Intrepid is a specialty investment bank and provides M&A, capital raising and strategic advisory services to entrepreneurs, family-owned companies, private equity sponsors and major corporations, through dedicated banking teams with deep industry sector experience and over three decades of experience. The firm is based in Los Angeles, with additional offices in Menlo Park, New York, Chicago, and Charlotte. Business Origination Analyst

Responsibilities

  • Supports senior bankers to build prospect lists using databases such as Sourcescrub, Pitchbook and CapitalIQ
  • Works with senior bankers and compliance to develop and update 2-3 presentations on specific subsectors per month
  • Emails 100-150 prospective clients per week, using language developed with senior bankers and cleared by compliance, following up regularly over subsequent weeks
  • Sets screening calls with responsive prospects, typically 10-15 per week assuming a 10% response rate
  • Represents Intrepid on initial screening calls, exuding confidence, and charm without speaking to valuation or probability of success
  • Enters notes into CRM and identifies potential opportunities to senior bankers
  • Sets follow-up calls with senior bankers for qualified leads
  • Maintains ongoing lists of leads and prospects in CRM and ensures regular cadence of contact (once per quarter for leads, once per year for prospects)
  • Represents Intrepid on city tours and trade shows, with and eventually without senior bankers
  • Over time, begins to proactively research additional subsectors and develop content / prospect lists with senior banker guidance
  • Maintains continual dialog with marketing team and helps provide and update content for broader campaigns
  • Ensures consistency of outreach through marketing and business development funnels

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree and outstanding academic credentials
  • Strong evidence of leadership skills through sports, student government, extracurricular, volunteer, or work-related internship accomplishments
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, process oriented, and strong attention to details
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Proactive, results oriented, can-do attitude, team player
  • Self-starter able to work in an entrepreneurial, demanding, and fast-paced environment
  • Significant level of maturity and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team
  • Hybrid work option flexibility
  • Become FINRA registered upon hired
