Intrepid is pleased to announce the promotions of Ryan Makis and Greg Passani to Vice President. Both bankers will focus on expanding the investment bank’s origination and coverage reach in the Technology & Digital Media sector that comprises the Digital Media and Software & Services practices. Tech companies in Los Angeles raised nearly $7 billion of funding last year, leading to profound effects across the city’s economy as a whole. With dedicated industry coverage aligned with key sectors undergoing significant consolidation and transformation through M&A activity, the firm is well positioned to continue its impressive growth trajectory.

Greg originally joined Intrepid as an Analyst in 2012 and was subsequently promoted to Associate in 2015. Prior to joining Intrepid, Greg worked at OpenGate Capital, a private equity firm focusing on corporate divestitures and financing for special situations in North America and Europe. During his time at Intrepid, he has advised entrepreneurs and private equity sponsors on domestic and cross-border M&A and capital raising transactions across a broad array of industries, including consumer products, digital media, industrial services, software and value-added distribution. His recent deals include Blue Microphones, Bunchball and SunBriteTV.
Ryan joined Intrepid as an Analyst in 2012 and was promoted to Associate in 2015. His transactional experience spans mandates across several of the group’s subsectors, including verticalized software, cyber security, IT services and digital marketing. Before joining the Intrepid team, he worked as an Intern for JDB Capital Partners LLC, a boutique investment bank which services middle-market companies throughout North America. He also worked as a Football Operations Intern for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League. His recent deals include GraphPad, Avaap, Drawloop, and Pitch.
Ryan received his A.B. with Honors in Economics from Princeton University. Greg has an M.A. in Finance from Claremont McKenna College, where he was a Robert Day Scholar and he holds a B.A. in Economics cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles.
