Intrepid Investment Bankers, a leading middle-market investment bank and the advisory arm of global financial group, MUFG, announced today that it acted as the financial advisor to Snak King LLC on its investment from Falfurrias Management Partners, a private equity firm focused on growth-oriented, middle-market businesses.
Over the past four decades, Snak King has established itself as one of the largest producers of co-manufactured and private-label salty snacks in the United States. Since its founding in 1978, Snak King has expanded to over 780 employees across state-of-the-art facilities located in the greater Los Angeles and Chicago areas.
“Snak King’s dedicated team and our steadfast customer-first mentality have enabled us to transform over the past 46 years from a small-scale pork rind business to an operation that delivers a broad range of innovative snacking options to food brands, retailers, and customers around the country,” said Barry Levin, CEO of Snak King. “Falfurrias’ experience will be enormously beneficial as we partner to achieve Snak King’s next phase of growth.”
Snak King’s innovation capabilities, broad and differentiated snack portfolio, and trusted service to its national customer base made it critically important to select an advisor that understood how to position a rapidly growing business with industry-leading manufacturing and product development abilities. “Intrepid provided unwavering support and guidance through every stage of the process. Their expertise and close partnership with our team enabled a fantastic outcome for Snak King and Falfurrias,” said Levin.
“It was a pleasure to work alongside Barry and the Snak King team. They have created a lasting impact on the snacking industry over their 46-year history of developing innovative and delicious snacks. We were thrilled to serve as an advisor and strategic resource to the company,” said Brian Levin (no relation), Managing Director at Intrepid.
“It was an honor to guide such an impressive entrepreneur and long-time industry leader through this partnership,” said Jim Freedman, Managing Director and Chairman of Intrepid. “We congratulate Snak King and Falfurrias Management Partners on the investment and look forward to watching Snak King’s continued success.”
