Intrepid Advises Direct-to-Consumer Children’s Sleepwear Leader, Little Sleepies, on Its Investment from Cortec Group

Intrepid announced today that it acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Little Sleepies, LLC on its investment from New York-based Cortec Group Fund VII, L.P. and its affiliates (Cortec). Little Sleepies is a leading children’s apparel brand disrupting the traditional sleepwear and older children’s apparel markets with its functional, high-quality, and affordably priced products. The brand consists of six core categories: zippies, pajamas, adult, nursery, apparel, and accessories. All products are crafted with buttery soft and eczema-friendly bamboo viscose fabric and come in a range of unique prints and sizes that fit all ages. The company’s award-winning designs help simplify diaper changes for parents and extend the fit of products by up to three times the industry standard.

Little Sleepies sells its products primarily direct-to-consumer through its website. Over the past three years, Little Sleepies has attracted a loyal customer base of parents and influencers who frequently promote and engage with the brand through social media. As a result, Little Sleepies has developed a rapidly growing, loyal and high-order-frequency customer base.

“Intrepid played a vital role in guiding me through the process and advising on key strategic decisions along the way,” said Maradith Frenkel, Founder and CEO of Little Sleepies. “From day one, Intrepid made it clear my business was their priority and they took the time to ensure that we found the right partner and achieved the best possible outcome.”

“We couldn’t be more impressed with the hyper-growth brand that Maradith founded and leads,” said Mike Garcia, Managing Director at Intrepid. “Her ability to disrupt the traditional children’s sleepwear industry and build such a passionate customer following is truly impressive. The process outcome reflects the special business that she has built and now, in partnership with Cortec, the company is poised to scale to a whole new level.”

“We truly enjoyed working with Maradith and helping her meet her transaction goals,” said Marvin Padilla, Managing Director and Head of the Lifestyle Brands practice at Intrepid. “The passionate customer base the Little Sleepies team has built makes us confident in the company’s ability to expand into additional markets and sustain its exceptional growth trajectory.”
