Intrepid Investment Bankers has a unique opportunity for a Vice President, Recruiter that has a strategically important role in the firm’s growth plans. Intrepid is the investment banking arm of MUFG Bank, Ltd., a member of the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (NYSE: MUFG), one of the 10th largest financial groups in the world.
Intrepid provides M&A, capital raising and strategic advisory services to entrepreneurs and middle-market companies through dedicated banking teams with deep industry sector experience. The firm is based in Los Angeles, with additional offices in New York, Chicago, Charlotte and San Francisco.
Job Summary:
We are seeking to add a highly talented individual to our team in Los Angeles, CA, responsible for full cycle recruitment of positions ranging from early career through executive management. This individual will work closely with the firm’s CEO, COO and report to MUFG’s Head of Talent Acquisition to execute the recruitment strategy required to support the firm’s aggressive national growth plan. The individual will collaborate with senior investment bankers to help them attract, hire, and retain best-in-class talent. The individual will be responsible for developing and executing the full lifecycle recruiting strategy to attract diverse and high performing talent at all levels, including junior, mid, and senior level roles., serving as a subject matter expert in relevant areas of talent acquisition strategies, inclusion & diversity policies, and objectives. Focus will be on sourcing and hiring talent to fill open positions, partnering to support on-campus recruiting campaigns, and successfully completing the onboarding process for candidates.
Major Responsibilities:
- Execute a best-in-class talent acquisition strategy that results in a continuous pipeline of qualified candidates for current and anticipated open positions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership, hiring managers, external recruiters, and candidates.
- Work with practice leaders to develop search strategies, and overall staffing needs for the organization.
- Consult with practice leaders on recruitment trends, target companies, innovative sourcing techniques, industry events, networking, job boards, cold calling, external research.
- Proactively identify and recruit passive candidates, and continually build a pipeline of candidates. Review all applicant resumes and sources to fit with position description and requirements; ensure a diverse candidate pool is presented.
- Position and effectively articulate the Intrepid value proposition.
- Manage the closing of the position all the way through the on-boarding of successful candidates.
- Review monthly/quarterly recruitment metrics to ensure target time to fill, aging and other TAS metrics are on track.
- Demonstrate a general understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Attend career fairs, on-campus recruiting days, and other networking events as a representative of the Intrepid.
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, and 6+ years of recruiting/sourcing experience within investment banking, preferably in the M&A sell-side middle market segment.
- Mix of agency and in-house recruiting experience preferred.
- Experience conducting searches for high visibility roles.
- Must be a team player who values accountability, integrity, quality, and has a strong sense of urgency.
- Proven track record of success within a recruitment organization.
- Understanding of Financial Services/Investment Banking industry.
- Must have creative sourcing, cold calling, and networking techniques.
- Strong business acumen. Ability to manage competing demands, prioritize and successfully meet client needs.
- Flexible nature and ability to meet changing demands in a dynamic work environment.
- Proven strength in the management and development of relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
- Superior communication skills both written and verbal, with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking databases (Workday Recruiting highly preferred), as well as Microsoft Office Products.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $150-165K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
